Out into the garden – outdoor trends for 2019

As soon as the first rays of sunshine promise the beginning of summer, our outside space becomes an extended living room. In the warmer months, the garden becomes our favourite social setting for slowing down, birdsong and rustling leaves included.

We now devote the same love and attention to our outside spaces as those inside – from furniture to lighting, from accessories to an entire pavilion. Instead of a folding chair, entire lounge islands move out into the garden with sofas, side tables and outdoor lights. Despite their homely nature, they are equipped with special features suited to their location, since lawn furniture has to be weather-resistant and water-repellent as well as easy to transport and store away.

In terms of colours and materials, there is a trend towards thematic harmonization on the one hand, with rattan, bentwood and sisal providing a natural ambience. On the other, fashionable red can be used to set deliberate contrasts in your outdoor landscape.
