High pile and bold graphics: the latest rugs
So long, carpet! Parquet has become our favourite flooring at home, but that doesn’t mean we have to miss out on comfort. Not only do rugs help reduce noise and provide warmth, they also add a touch of homeliness.
In 2019, they also compete as works of art if they have striking graphics. Whether rugs are stripy, ornamental, have a strongly orthogonal or floral pattern, whether they are printed or elaborately tufted and woven, the days of monochrome rectangles are over.
If you are feeling courageous, remember one single rule when choosing your new eye-catching rug: if you have strong nuances on the floor, your furniture should be more restrained. Just like in fashion, it’s better to have one main accent than several items competing with each other.
