Men cook in a different way, but then so do women!
You often find that a counter trend develops in parallel with a trend. This is what happened at this year’s “Living Kitchen”: as well as kitchens with very masculine vibes, there were noticeably many kitchens with a feminine look. Colours such as light grey, beige, pink, and pastels are the typical choice for this furniture.
The manufacturers then add decorative lighting, delicate vases and candlesticks. In the more manly-looking kitchens it is colours such as anthracite and black, materials like carbon and steel, a minimal design and functional lighting.
Cliché or not, psychologists specialising in the way we live actually still consider that men have a more rational approach to cooking, preferring sophisticated technology, whereas women view the kitchen as a feel-good place where you get together with friends and family.
